Denver's Emil Romig (#18, F, Fr, Vienna, Austria) and North Dakota goalie Clarke Saunders (#33, G, Sr, Brockville, Ontario) a loose puck just outside of the crease as FKA Fighting Sioux players Rocco Grimaldi (#19, F, So, Rossmoor, CA) and Troy Stecher (#2, D, Fr, Richmond, British Columbia) race in to help. After a 4-2 drubbing at the hands of North Dakota the night before, the Pioneers sought revenge in this Saturday night affair. The Pioneer squad came out with an energy and emotion that was lacking the night before. Sr. goaltender Sam Brittain was remarkable in net facing 43 shots over the game while yielding nothing to the FKA Fighting Sioux. DU's offensive efforts produced three goals, all by forwards, leading to a 3-0 Denver win in a must-win game for the Pioneers.
